Postdoctoral Research Associates

Dr Marcelo Alves Da Silva

Marcelo delivered an EPSRC New Investigator project and a collaboration with Renovos Biologics. He now works at KCL on a Leverhulme Trust project with Mike and Eleanor at UCL.

Dr Lisa Gerstmann

Lisa was delivered a project led by Darragh Murnane at the University of Hertfordshire. She now works for Johnson and Johnson.

Dr Bin Zhang

Bin delivered a KEEP+ project to develop ultrasound phantoms, which are now in use by a medical training company and in use by ca 1000+ medics pa. She is now a Lecturer in Additive Manufacturing at Brunel University.

Alan Reader

Alan worked on mixtures of block copolymers to form thermoreversible gelators. He’s now a scientist at Fluid Pharma.

Intisar Salah

Intisar studied soluplus as an additive for topicals. She is now studying for a PhD at UCL.

PhD Researchers

Dr Abhishek Rajbanshi

Abhishek developed branched copolymer surfactants which act as thermoresponsive emulsifiers. He is now a Lecturer in Pharmaceutics at the University of Hertfordshire.

Dr Mohamad Shamat

Mo studied complex mixtures of thermoresponsive gels. He moved to GlaxoSmithKline after graduation.

Dr Peter Haddow

Peter studied block copolymers as thetmoreversible gelators. He moved to Johnson Matthey after graduation.

Dr Rosemond Mensah

Rosemond studied membranes derived from eggshells. After graduation she started a postdoc at UCL. Her primary supervisor was David Chau (UCL).

Dr Jessica Bassi da Silva

Jessica studied mucosa-mimetic materials and thermoresponsive gels. She is now a Lecturer at the University of Maringa. Her primary supervisor was Prof Marcos Luciano Bruschi (U. Maringa).

Dr Sara Shafaie

Sara studied cell models of the eye. She is now running her own company. Her primary supervisor was David Chau (UCL).
